So, I enabled the guest user because when I was not on the computer (At work) people used to come and work, actually play or surf on mine.

Well, I dont have that problem anymore but I cabt disable the Guest option!!

I go to System, Accounts, I unlock the administrator (clicking on the small lock , bottom left) and then it doesn't let me select the Guest account anyway (it doesn't highlight, it seems blocked for some reason!) .... what can I do??? There is a little orange yellow check mark next to the 'guest account' profile.
How do I disable the guest account?

Please help!

thanks

The only reason I have seen that it would not highlight the account on the menu is because it didn't log in right. Are you sure that when you clicked on the lock and then typed in your administrator's username and password and then clicked ok?

Well one way for it to say "Disabled" (I can not delete the Account either) is to unlock the Account pane then uncheck the "Allow guests to connect to shared folders".

As a joke if you want to be really paranoid the read the NSA Security Configuration Guide for Panther. They haven't updated on the web since then because we all know how slow the government runs.
