Okay, here's the deal, or at least I thought it was. I picked up an iBook G4 running version 10.4.6 for a really good price but I don't have any disks for it, nor do I have the user name or password. So, who can help me get into this with step by step instructions and please be thorough. But, at the same time don't treat me like an idiot.

AFAIK, the only way for you to get into the system, change the password, etc, is with an Installation Disc. You need to insert the OS Installation cd on your CD/DVD drive, and then shut down your computer. Then, wait ten seconds and turn your computer on again, but keep holding the "C" keyboard key, then you will see a menu, where you can select to change the password. Utilities - Reset password

Here, check this out---> http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_do_i_reset_my_mac_os_x_admin_root_password.html

Sorry, but, if you dont have the CD, I dont think there is a way to get into the system iwht a different username and password. Try to ask for a college for the CDs. Sorry if I wasnt more helpful.
