tunes, where did they go?

Silly question.

When I rip a CD with iTunes, where do the .mp3's go?

How could I locate things like this easily?

If I for example, bringin a bunch Mp3's from a location other than an audio CD, how do I get iTunes to find them?

If you're in iTunes 4, go to iTunes~>Preferences, and click the Advanced tab. You should see "iTunes Music Folder Location." You can set the location to be wherever you want.

The default is to put tunes into the Music folder in your User account folder. If you have all the ID3 tags filled in for the CD, it will then sort the songs into the following structure:

Artist 1 > Album 1 > Songs.mp3
Artist 1 > Album 2 > Songs.mp3

etc.

And, of course, you can always select a track in iTunes, then type command-R, to display a given music file in the Finder.

As for making iTunes recognize your new mp3's, just select them in the Finder and drag them into your iTunes Library Window.
