Turn File Vault Off

I'm hoping that someone can help me turn my Filevault off. Everytime I try turning it off I get a message which comes up saying
"An error occured during decryption (an error occured during copying) Filevault will be turned on for this homefolder and the home folder will still be encrypted."

From my quick internet seach, I gather that I have to do something with the sparse imag, however I have no idea what that is or how to access it.

Any ideas?

Hm.. how much empty space do you have on your hard drive then?
You will need as much empty space as your home folder (the sparseimage) takes space. So if the sparseimage is 10 GB, you'll need 10 GB free, or if 60 GB, then you need 60 GB free. If you have less space, it will not be able to switch the filevault off.
