Turn of my other display

Hi,

I have my TV connected to my computer so when I'm going to watch a movie I drag it over there. But I don't want it like that all the time, for instance when I play games it's really irritating if I drag the mouse to much to the side it goes out to the TV.. How do I turn it off?
In Linux and Windows it's no problem at all, but in OS X I can't find that option?

Was this a dumb question or does seriously no one know how to disable a second monitor without disconnecting it?
 
Once you switch it off (or disconnect the cable), OS X recognizes it's not there and your display gets automatically adjusted to showing everything only on the screen that is in use.
