turn off smbd logs?

I've finally narrowed down some really bad system freezes/crashes to my smbd logs, particularly log.smbd.old. For some reason, the smbd log grows to several gigs overnight periodically, fills my hard drive, and crashes the system. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening? I'd like to keep Samba running to share files with my PC, but I don't want my Mac crashing because of this...

You probably should figure out what is in these huge logs - if you turn off logging, you might be just sticking your head in the sand...

We are having the same exact problem and were wondering whether you had ever figured out the culprit of the problem.
