Turning up the volume

I would like to turn up the volume on my Powerbook (i.e. louder than the full volume setting).

I know this must be possible in terms of the built in speakers, because it's possible to increase the volume of individual mp3s in iTunes (via the Options panel in Get Info).

Is there any way of increasing the volume in general?

yeah, id definatly using external speakers. i made the mistake of using only the built in speakers on my thinkpad for the first few months. eventually, the sound quality degraded, and eventually the speakers blew. the built in speakers on laptops are not the greatest sound in any case. i for one use some good hifi headphones on my laptop, but good external speakers would work equally well. i just replaced the speakers on my thinkpad, and hate the tinny sound compared to the high quality headphones im used to.

The speakers in my eMac basically suck, but there alright for the intentional use though. I basically hook my mac up to my stereo thats hooked up to 4 speakers. I first made a bit that it is a headphone jack (similar to ear phones but you have to use the portable speakers headphone jack) and then hooked that up into audio input cables. But then my sister found a cable for 10 bucks that did this so yeah .....
