Ubuntu and Parallels

Tried installing Ubuntu 6.10 with Parallels. I am downloading a version that is suppose to be for desktop PCs and laptops that has "386" in the name. In Parallels I creat a new VM and told it to do a Typical Install, Linux, and Debian. I assume that Debian is correct for Ubuntu. It seems to load up but at the login boot I get press ENTER to continue. I press Enter and get a message that says ISO disk error 02 AX 4200 drive 9f. Any ideas? Could I be downloading the wrong ISO for 6.10? Should I be selecting something other than Debian? Also, I am using the latest beta of Parallels. Thanks for any help!
 
I have Ubuntu Desktop - 6.10, I believe - running just fine. I installed it as "Other 2.6 Kernel". I don't recall the exact wording of the option, but hopefully you'll recognize it when you see it.
 
Thanks for the tip rwilkerson. I tried this but I still have the same problem at login (hit Enter and nothing happens). Would you kindly tell me which version/distribution of Ubuntu 6.10 you are using? There seems to be three: One for PC and Laptops, one for PowerPC, and one for AMD and 64bit machines. I am using the latest MacBook Pro so I have an intel core 2 duo.

I have the same machine you have. I installed from an ISO named ubuntu-6.10-desktop-i386.iso.

Argghh. That is what I installed. And when you hit ENTER it took you in, right? I did a TYPICAL installation in Parallels and it assigned 256 MB. Did you do a customize installation? Maybe I don't have enough memory yet. I have 1 GB but Win XP was already running. I'll try (a) quitting Win XP (b) try i386 again and (c) upgrade to 2 GB if that fails. Thanks for any ideas. Let me know if you did something other than a TYpical installation or if you have more than 1 GB RAM. Thanks!
