I am new to mac... Can someone please tell me what kind of uninstaller programs can I use for Mac OS X 10.2.3?

Free Ware programs are also a welcomed site? If I have to pay please tell me... I need some programs to clean out my stuff.

Thanks.

On the Mac, you generally don't need special programs to uninstall software. All you do is drag the application to the trash. Poof! It's gone.

The only reason Windows apps need uninstallers is because they sprinkle files all over your system, and mess with that awful beast--the registry. We don't have either of those problems.

I am sure if I installed Adobe Photoshop trialware which has expired that there are still unwanted extension on my Mac... and Virus Barrier is also coming to an end for the Trial period... I want to remove them and not have to boot up to errors... lol... so please help me.

Sirtovin,

I'm pretty sure you can just drag that trial Photoshop to the trash and be done with it. I don't know for sure about Virus Barrier.

The only other places you'll often see files is in /Library/Preferences (rarely) or ~/Library/Preferences (most of the time).

If you just leave these there they shouldn't cause any problems. What you might try is this:

- in the Finder, select Find from the File menu
- search your hard drive for files with Photoshop in the name (for example).
- drag those to the trash

If you really want to get rid of everything that Photoshop leaves behind... and I don't know why you would...

Why would you want to get rid of everything Photoshop leaves on there anyway? Anyway, here you go...

-Trash the Photoshop folder in your Applications folder.
-Trash the Adobe folder in Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support.
-Trash the Adobe folder in Macintosh HD>Users>YOUR USER ID>Library>Application Support.
-Trash the following things in Macintosh HD>Users>YOUR USER ID>Library>Preferences:
--Adobe folder
--Adobe Online Prefs
--Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Paths
--Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings folder
--Adobe Regististration Database

Photoshop has an installer log that will show you everything it installed and where. It's in your Photoshop Folder.

Virus Barrier should also have a log.
