I tried to install the Public Beta Tools CD (October 2000) on a G3 Public beta MacOSX system after downloading it from ADC but it hung.
Here are the steps I followed :
- expand the file with stuffit, which created a Developper.pkg file
- launch Developer.pkg and go through all steps (Introduction, License, Select destination, Installation type, then Installing)
The installing step shows the following error :
"Couldn't write bom to path
Please try installing again"
When I look in the log file it says
"[NSUnixTree initWithPath:] failed to read bom from path
/Users/phil/Library/Desktop/Developer.pkg/Developer.bom"
I checked the file and the path is correct, so what's wrong ?
When I click "go back" and try to install again it hangs saying "Preparing Developer Software".
Any help appreciated...
