Unable to Launch Midi Server

Hi all

Has anyone seen this problem before? I first noticed it when I tried to load Garageband today. Some sort of timeout issue. I went to audio midi setup and cannot select the midi tab without getting unable to Launch Midi server error.
I tried following some advice from some others but nothing was clear enough for me to figure out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and definately save having to reload. Thanks
