Unable to login after bad restart

Hi Team,

We are using one Tiger installed G5 machine, which is upgraded from panther. Now the problem is, suppose if the machine is restarted unexpectedly (like any hanging or power trip), then again it is not get login with the last used user name. We tried many options(like deleting preferences) to get login but unable to login. So finally we create a new user and copy all the settings from that problematic user. It works only with the new user.If you have any suggestions for this please share with me.

Did you reset the password of the user using an install CD or DVD?
