I am on a corporate LAN and am having some networking issues. My department is all makes (5) and we have all upgraded to 10.3
We have troubles seeing each others computers. let me set up a scenario for you.
5 Macs A through E

A can see CDE
B can see CDE
C can see ABE
D can see AE
E can see ACD

I think that is how it is. Anyway the username for B and E are the same. Would this cause conflicts? they have different IP's though
Could it be that we are on different switches on the network??

Yes it could be different switches/routers. Get the IP addresses of every computer and see if they're in the same subnet - like this: 192.168.1.xxx - only the xx's vary. You may have firewall enabled on some but not all computers, too.

As gsahli said the subnet is probablly the issue. This might be the case if some machines have static IP addresses, and others have DHCP. Even if this is the case, I think there is some way for your network guys to make the machines visible across subnets with some router config changes.

Also make sure they all have the Apple Personal File Sharing turned on vs the Windows File Sharing.
