Unable to Unarchive

Any zip file that I download now with Safari gives me the error 'unable to unarchive'. Literally any zip file. From anywhere. I have tried trashing the plist from safari but that didn't help.

I get the same error with Stuffit. If I download the same files with camino, it works just fine. What gives?

Ok, well, I did a thourough 'cleasing' of my system with onyx. Cleared it all AND trashed the plist file for safari....and it works again.
