Unattended backups to USB Harddisk, how??

Hi,

I'm using Superduper to do backups of my Mac Mini to an external USB harddisk. Works nice and no complains on Superduper. In Superduper I scheduled backups such that they are executed on a daily basis but.... this only works as long as I'm logged in on OSX because the external USB disk get unmounted as soon as I log out.

How can I force the USB disk to get/stay mounted even when I'm not logged in?

Thanks. I checked the Superduper FAQ and learned that it cannot work without a user being logged on. A workaround seems to be to install/run superduper as root.. but I haven't quit understood how you can log in as root...

But apart from Superduper, my original question still remains and is independent of Superduper:
How can I force the USB disk to get/stay mounted even when I'm not logged in?

Look in this file;

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin

It should say NO

Chane to YES and see if that helps.
