Undo everything?

i was wondering if there is anyway to undo all system-wide settings and to essentially put the os x system into a state as if it were just freshly installed? i would like to do this without having to reinstall from the dvds.

my reason for this is that i did a disk repair and then when i rebooted all of my setting were changed (dock, toolbar, various application extensions and features were disabled or altered), and i'd rather not go through and have to look for all potential changes. i'm also unable to change things like the name of my home folder--as this has reverted to a name previously used by my brother who had the computer before me.

if it matters, i'm using a powerbook g4 with the latest updates of os x. thanks.
