My father's Powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 stopped loading most applications after running Software Update. One of the updates did not work, we don't know which one or how to find out. I've tried repairing permissions, rebooting in safe mode. No external hardware is connected.
Many applications will pop up in the Dock for 1 second, but quickly disappear with no crash report, this is the case for Onyx & Cocktail to try to clear the cache as suggested on other threads. Short of reinstalling the operating system, any suggestions? BTW his original software disk is not in the same state at the moment!
