Uninstalling in Mac OS

BlingBling 3k12

Somewhere... dunno though
As a Windows user, I am used to going to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and Uninstalling the app from there. When playing around with a Mac earlier today, I never saw a Uninstall option under ANY program. So how would you do this?

When I get my Mac, I will NEVER go into OS 9 (unless I am bored and have nothing else to do but go into 9), so any details under OS X would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

(Edit: I was using OS 9 today since none of the MUST USE programs aren't compatible... it was at a realtor agency and their MLS software isn't compatible yet... probably never will though... but I PERSONALLY will not use 9 so I don't know if this has changed)

with the majority of programs for osx you just drag and drop the app and its folder if it has one to the trash. empty trash and you are done. some more complex programs do come with an uninstall option built into the installer. of course m$ programs typically require more complex procedures. however there have been some independent developers release M$ uninstall apps.

really, macs are not as complicated as pc's. pretty much everthing is easy that you might need to do on a regular basis.

btw - i had a question about your post on the reasons to buy a mac thread. (see thread for question)

Yes, when it comes to uninstalling most mac apps, it's a matter of dragging the folder the installer created into the trash and it's gone.

However, not so with other apps that are part of the system. I had been trying to install Chinese package into 10.1 since I realized that the CD I had didn't have it. When I got the later CD (whose only difference is that it got more localized packages) I installed the Chinese package. It didn't work completely. Sure i now have Chinese interface if I want to but I can't input Chinese, as if the CD didn't install everything (using the same CD on a different computer starting with 10.0.4 worked, but used with my 10.1.2 laptop it had this problem). Only days later Apple released Chinese package for those who, like me, didn't install it with the first 10.1 upgrade CD. But I can't take advantage of this because the system thinks I already have Chinese (which I sort of do).

So I want to uninstall Chinese package from my laptop and reinstall it using what Apple is offering now. How? I don't know where the files are!

Any clue what I can do to convince the Software Updater that I need the Chinese package they have?

Thanks,
G
