Uninstallling Jaguar

I recently upgraded to Jaguar but soon afterwards was dismayed to learn that a vital application, Matlab for OS X, presently runs only on 10.1.5. Matlab does not work with Jaguar. Until a patch is availble, I would like to revert to using the pre-Jaguar Mac OS X (10.1.5). Is it easy and/or safe to uninstall Jaguar and reinstall an old OS?

I upgraded to Jaguar two days ago and no other software has been installed since then.

If you did an archival install, a folder with a copy of the old system should reside in you present system folder. Use Carbon Copy Cloner and transfer it to a spare disk or tape, bless it and move it back to your original disk.

Unfortunately I didn't do an archival install. As far as I can tell the only version of Mac OS X on the disk is 10.2

FYI, G4,867Mhz,75GB,1.12GB
