I have some files with the unix executable icon on, but they are not unix files, but broken files created by a pc iso app, and now they wont work when double clicked. Is there a way those files can be fixed?

I know toast opens isos, its the files that are contained in the isos that im talking about. Instead of beeing executionable files when double clicked they have the unix icon and they dont open correctly. So im asking if theres a way to fix them so they open correctly when double clicked!

If you know files have extensions, then it is easy to associate them with a compatible app:

Click on the file.
Select File/Get Info or [cmd]-[ i ].
From the Get Info dialog box, click the Opens with: popup menu.
Choose the app you want.
Click the Change All... button.

How are they opening incorrectly? You might have to properly associate them with the correct file type again. For instance if you moved an word document that did not have a .doc extension but opened because of the creator code to a PC and back you could end up with such 'broken' file.

We need better information to better diagnose your problem.

Its a self executable file, and yes it has a unix icon which prolly means that its not associated with some app, but what app should self executed files be assosiated to?

Self-executable files are not associated with other applications. MacOS X applications are not files, but are a special directories or folders with the .app extension. Try appending the .app extension. If this does not work, then report back with a more complete description of the nature of your files.

Are they Mac OS X applications (i.e. *.app)? Or OS 9 executables? It might just be that putting them on a (Windows) ISO removed the resource forks, which might render them unusable.

They are OSX applications, not os9 executables.
fryke what u say is true they have prolly been put on a Windows ISO so thats why they seem unusuable.
Still adding the .app extension fixes those files. Bad thing is that there are more files that are unusuable and i have no idea which ones they are. I get an error msg after i execute the .app file cause the .app file uses some other file that seems to be assosiated with pshop and thats when i get the error, cause pshop cannot open that file!
