Unlinking Classic

Hi all,

I've set up a second G4 running OS9.2.2 and this G4 is networked to my first G4. Now I'd like to remove OS9.2.2 from the partition on my first machine and unlink the Classic option from the OSX System Preferences ... sort of going backwards if you like. I seem to have lost the startup chimes from my OSX machine which I suspect is because the Finder is corrupted on the OS9.2.2 partition.

Anybody know how to remove and unlink Classic safely?

Any help gratefully appreciated - Tonyl

In the classic panel deselect the selected classic systemmap. That is all you have to do. Afterwards you can remove the 9.2.2. partition and fix it.

Good luck, Kees

Thanks Kees,

Is it really that simple? I'll try it. Surely though the OS9 icon will still appear in System Prefs?

All the best - tonyl
