how can i unlock my childs imac.
it won't run any apps. and the cd drive wont open.
no idea how she managed to lock it..
no idea how to unlock it.
please help

What type of Mac--OS, RAM, Model

She locked it possibly by logging out of her account. Have her log back in again.

If you can find the latest OS X system disk you can boot with it (by holding the c button down while booting) and when the installer starts you can go directly to the menu items an choose "Reset Password" function.
