So I recently decided that I wanted to backup all my files onto an external hard drive and revert my Powerbook g4 back to its original factory settings in hopes that it would run a lot faster, more or less like it used to when i first got the thing about 4 years ago.
So i backed up just about everything I knew would be important to save and put in the original OS X disk that came with the computer. Everything seemed to be going well, my computer is back to its old self. I let the computer do its thing and update all the available upgrades that it could, so that I could upload all of my music and applications and what not, but I've run into a speed bump.
The most recent version of OS X that my computer will run on is 10.3.9. I've tried downloading 10.4.11 from the apple website, but it tells me that the software cannot be installed on this computer. This is agrivating because I cant instal the latest version of itunes untill i have a more recent version of the opperating system! Is there anyone who has any idea what I'm doing wrong, or if there is anyway to get my computer updated properly??
