My understanding of the NetInfo database is that in most cases, it is required that NetInfo is rebooted (not the computer, although sure, that'll do it.) In NetInfo Manager, there should be an option of restarting NetInfo from one of the menus.
Another option is going to the Network preferences under the System Preferences, changing a network setting, saving it, changing it back, and saving it again. This actually restarts NetInfo twice, but does the job without having to enter one's password in (I find this also works to get rid of some kinks that seem to develop between my computer and my Linksys router every once and a while.)
