Upgrade to Leopard?

I recently got an iMac. I would like to know how soon Apple has to release Leopard for me to get a free upgrade to Leopard. Also, if that period elapses, do I get any discount for any amount of time on my upgrade to Leopard?

Thanks for any help!

Or rather, _any_ Leopard pricing can be considered update pricing, since it's not possible to have bought a Mac capable of running Leopard without a Mac OS license.

Apple, in the past, _did_ have a grace period, but since you've already bought the iMac and there was no such free-uprade programme announced at the time, you'll probably have to pay the full (upgrade) price of (quite probably) USD 129.

I'll buy mine as soon as I can get my hands on it, but that's just me. :)

Time Machine itself looks to be worth more than $130 to me (even more so if recovery from catastrophic failure [dead drive?] is snappy). Mail 3, iChat, Calendar, Spaces, Boot Camp...
That doesn't even count the stuff they aren't telling us about yet.

Should be lots of fun!

On the otherhand, if you think it's too expensive, and/or there are no compelling reasons for you to upgrade, then by all means use the OS version you have. No one will force you to upgrade against your will (at least until that compelling 3rd party software requires Leopard...)
