Upgrade to OS 10.x on Mac G3?

As my username suggests, I'm running a Mac G3. It has 704 mb of RAM, upgradable to 1024, and a 350 MHz processor, currently running on OS 9.2.2

Is it possible to upgrade to OS 10.4 without crashes, unbearable slowness, or other substantial grief?

My technical level is low average.

Thanks in advance for any insight that may be forthcoming.
 
Don't Expect raw speed increase but yes, I have the same mac and osX runs fine. Its better than OS9 either way.
 
Firmware was up to date. Other responses suggest that the slow processor and bus speed could be problematic. Processor could be enhanced, but bus speed is what it is. Thanks for your input.
