Hello

I barely know what I am doing, so please, be patient.
I have a powerbook G3 400 mhz (pismo) that I put an Airport card in. I was running it with Os9.2 and worked great when I was on the road.
At home, I have comcast dsl with the dsl box and a Lynkses wireless g router....I was linking in to this no problem either. I do not have an Apple Airport Base

I just updated the OS on the powerbook to OS x.3 as I was having other problems. OS loaded great. I updated the Airport software to X.3.

Now when I try to open airport or airport set up utility I either get the message that it can't see the airport hardware or that Airport can't open in Classic mode.

When I go through the Internet Connect and scan, there's nothing doing.
The only way I could connect was to unplug the ethernet cable out of my desktop eMac and plug it in to the powerbook, so at least I know something is working.
Is my Airport card no longer compatible? I can't find anything to tell me that.
Thanks a million billion to any who provide assistance.

  I am so frustrated~!

What I would suggest is that you plug your laptop into an ethernet cable and run Software Update (available under the Apple menu in the top-left corner) and make sure all your software is up to date. You may have to run it more than once, since some updates depend on padt updates already being installed...the point : just keep running Software Update until it says "Your software is up to date".

If you bought a genuine Apple brand AirPort card there's no reason it shouldn't work.

We'll check from there.

Just for reference, the current version of Mac OS X is 10.3.6 and AirPort software 4.1

by the way, there is a new airport update over SU. Didn't read what's the problem here, but maybe the update will fix it..
