We bought an older, used iMac for emailing and internet use. It currently has System OS X 10.3.9. (Previous owner said it would shut down frequently. We have not experienced a shut down yet.)
We are wanting to upgrade it to Snow Leopard and are wondering if it is possible with this model and memory. If it is possible but needs more memory, please tell me how much.

iMac G5 (3.0)
Memory: 512 MG
Bus Speed 533 MHx
Processor: 1.6 GHz
Serial # QP512oECPNX

Leopard, not Snow Leopard is as far as you can go with your PPC G5 iMac.
And yes, max out the memory (inexpensive these days), any of the newer Operating system versions will give you a better user experience with max ram.
