Upgrading RAM (blank screen upon start-up)

1) Are you sure you matched specs exactly?
2) Are you sure you fully seated the new RAM chips fully--did they click into place?

Doubtful, but you possibly got bad RAM.

More than likely you got incompatible RAM, but it's impossible to tell because you failed to tell us what kind of Mac you have. Not all Macs take the same RAM.

You took out RAM that is rated at 667MHz, and replaced it with RAM that is rated at 800MHz -- why? It's quite likely that the 800MHz RAM is not "downclocking" appropriately to 667MHz.

You can find out the exact type of RAM you need with a super-simple Google search, or, even better, a super-simple search on Apple's site with your correct model of Macintosh.
