Upgrading router

I have a dlink DI604 router to which my DSL modem is connected. My network was initially set up on an adaptec (before I got dsl). I bought a dlink DI 624 to get faster speeds on my network, but connecting to the internet is not proving easy. I tried to copy the satic ip to the 624 set up (as identified by the 604) but that isn't working. ISP not available on weekends (didn't foresee an internet problem) so I need some help.

Enable NAT
Wan side should get the configuration information for connecting to your DSL provider.
LAN side should be set to do DHCP.
Turn off your DSL modem for 1 minute.
Turn off your router.
Turn the modem back on and wait 30-ish seconds.
Tun the router on.

If it doesn't work after 30-ish seconds, then you may have to clone your computer's MAC address to the router.

After cloning the Mac address, turn off your DSL modem for 1 minute.
Turn of the router.
Turn the DSL modem back on and wait 30-ish seconds.
Turn the touter on.

If it doesn't work after 30-ish seconds, I - uh... I got nuthin'.
