Usb Flash Drive Not Recognized

Running El Capitan 10.11.3, USB ports working (printer connected to one), flash drive in one other port worked until I downloaded Macfuse, after which no flash drive was recognized (no disk icon shows on Desktop). Restored system from Timemachine to before downloading Macfuse but flash drives still not recognized. Disk Utility does not list it either.
Suggestions are appreciated.
 
Yes, I did a restart, but rebooting after unplugging the power for 30 seconds, refreshing everything, solved the problem.
