USB modem working but can't eject

basically sometimes I run a usb broadband card in macbook all my flash drives I have to eject but when I have the modem card in it does'nt show but it does work. I use it fine when I'm finished I'm used to ejecting the device properly but there is nothing in my finder to eject I just take it out nothing happens like improper device removal is this bad for the mac?

A USB modem is not a volume or disk. It is just a connection and does not need to be unmounted, as it never was mounted.

Many broadband cards include a microSD slot as well so that the modem doubles as a USB flash drive. The mounted microSD card must be safely unmounted, not unlike any other dedicated USB flash drive.

Are you using a microSD card in your USB modem? If so, you must safely unmount the USB flash drive volume before pulling the modem out. If not, then you needn't do anything with unmounting -- just plug and unplug the modem at your convenience.
