USB MP3 player not recognised

Hi,

I've just switched to a mac mini and my MuVo mp3 player is recognised fine as a USB drive - I'm aware of some file problems and MuVo helper seems OK there. However my SO's generic chinese player isn't recognised at all. In the about this mac box it isn't listed in the USB entries at all. Naturally Disk Utility doesn't show it either. Any ideas aprt from get an iPod?

No idea really, but I've solved a couple of USB problems by connecting through a powered hub. Presumably the Mac was not giving enough power.

I'd noted this with an HP printer which would only work directly off the back of the mac (evn though it has a PSU, obviously) so that was where I was trying mp3 player. Got a powered hub on order so that's next point.

The mp3 works with generic driver on XP so Wintel 1, Mac 0!
