USB port on keyboard doesn't recognize mouse

Since I installed a StarTech USB 2.0 card in PCI slot C, the right hand USB port on the keyboard won't work with the mouse. Oddly, the mouse will work on the left hand USB and any other device will work on the right hand one. I've tried the printer and cameras and they work fine. I'm right handed and I'd like to use my mouse on the right! What a dumb problem! Also, since I put in the USB 2.0 card the sleep mode won't work. The system profiler says under system profile hardware review;

Attributes: Low power mode disabled because of PCI cards in slots: SLOT-C,SLOT-C,SLOT-C

How do I fix?

Thanks!
Lauren

As for the USB port on your keyboard not functioning, I don't know what's causing that -- but I will say that I've had one hell of a time getting USB 2.0 cards to work in my system. I've tried everything from cheap-o no-name brand cards to medium-end "Mac OS X Compatible" cards and have had nothing but conflicts and strange behavior.

As for the "Lower power mode disabled" message, that's telling you that the PCI card does not support sleep mode, so you will not be able to sleep your computer with this card installed.

If you want USB 2.0 on your machine, I can recommend Adaptec-branded Mac OS X compatible cards. They almost always function flawlessly. I'm planning on getting the DuoConnect (for both FireWire 400 and USB 2.0, since I'm running out of slots) and expect it to work better than the cards I've tried.
