Hi there,
I have a 15.4" macbook pro with a 2.16 ghz processor. I have OS 10.5.3. I went to plug in my G-Tech G-Drive Q 500GB Quad Interface Hard Drive and it didn't show up in the finder. I looked in disk utilities and it didn't show up. I tried it on another macbook pro, also with 10.5.3 and it worked fine. I tried a flash drive just to make sure, and it didn't work on my computer either. I also run Windows XP Home in BootCamp and I plugged the flash drive in and it worked just fine, so I'm pretty sure that rules out a hardware issue. The really bizarre thing is that if I plug in a USB Razer Mouse on the Mac side, it works fine, it's just external drives that don't work. I really don't know anything about Unix, but an error report showed up in my hard drive. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not.
There is also a file in my main hard drive named mach_kernel. When I open it up, it mentions a Bus Error.
I don't know if any of these have anything to do with this problem.
I don't want to wipe the hard drive if it won't fix it, but I also would like to try and fix this without reformatting everything. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
