User Printer Keeps Disconnecting

Printer is continuously losing connection. In order to restore the connection, I must remove and remap the printer. This is only a temporarily solution as this allows for one page to be printed before the printer drops again. User is printing IP to a Kyocera KNC1530 with a Firey RIP. User has OSX 10.3.7.
 
When you say IP printing, I guess you mean IP > LPR?
Is the Fiery RIP a standalone box?
Does the documentation for the RIP give a device-specific queue name for you to enter?
