Using a Kodak USB Picture Card Reader in OS X

I have a Kodak USB Picture Card reader that I use to get pictures from my digital camera. I have this device plugged into my iMac 24/7 but for it to actually work I have to boot into OS 9. When in OS 9 the card icon mounts on the desktop (after I installed the software for it of course) but I'm getting sick of having to reboot to get pictures. Is there a way that I can start up Classic in OS X and have the card reader still mount somehow?

There is no patch what so ever!!!! I just purchased a Belkin (third party) card reader and then it worked in OSX. I don't know why kodak doesn't fix it? Anyway problem solved.
