Hello,
it's long ago since I last have made a backup of my system. What primarily holds me back is that I keep pretending that I just do not have the time.
Then I fell over an article which describes how to backup recently changed data using the automator:
- create smart folder that looks for new data
- "Get smart folder contents"
- "copy finder items": copy the files in the smart folder to a "burn folder"
- "burn a disc": burn the data in the burn folder
Unfortunately, this script does not copy the path of the files. This means, I get a CD full of files, but every file is in the root directory. I would appreciate if the backuped files would get into subfolders.
for example:
I worked on ~/Documents/Work/today.doc and ~/Documents/Fun/photo.jpg.
I would like to appear these files on my backup disc in the folders
/Documents/Work/ and /Documents/Fun/.
Instead, for the moment and annoying for me, the files appear mixed up in the root folder of the backup disc, that means as /today.doc and /photo.jpg.
I already looked for a solution for hours. Could anybody please give me a hint?
Yours,
Bernhard
