I now have a Power Mac 7200/75 running OS 8.1 and I'd like to connect the Mac to the Internet... but since we use Phoneline networking, i gotta go this route..

please help... thanx

Well, I have the reverse configuration (PC sharing Mac's connection), so I'm not sure if I'll be able to help too much. Anyway, I'll tell you what I've got going on, and maybe it'll help.

PC and Mac are connected with crossover cable. Machines are assigned static IP addresses. Mac has 10.0.0.1, and PC has 10.0.0.2. I have IPNetShareX running on the Mac, which provides network address translation services. Thus, the Mac is acting as a gateway to the outside world. the PC's ethernet connection is configured to look to 10.0.0.1 for its gateway.

Now I know XP has its fancy wizard of allowing connection sharing. I imagine that it just sets up similar NAT services, and if you know what IP address to assign for gateway, I imagine you could just tell the Mac to look to that gateway.

I hope that wasn't more confusing than helpful. Anyone else. . . ?
