using Skype on iMac G5

hope this is the right forum for this post -- does anyone know why I can hear the person at the other end of Skype calls, but they can't hear me? For some reason, my Skype preferences keep resetting my audio input to "built in audio internal microphone", despite the fact that i've set my system prefs to "line in" for sound input. And does my iMac G5 even have an internal mic? Thx

The Apple web site lists nothing about an internal microphone. Hrm. Guess not. Therefore, you need to plug in some sort of microphone into yoru audio in port, in order for anybody to hear you.

The Imac G5 has an internal microphone, and I have been using it with skype for quite som while now without problems!

The iMac has an internal mic. I use skype too on the same mac and now I smile when I get my phone bill (close to $0.00 for voice).

I'm using an iMac G5 and skype without problems, you should set both the Sound System pref and Skype audio pref to built in audio internal microphone and enjoi VoIP trouble free :D

Oops! Excuse me! Didn't scroll down far enough on the "tech specs" page...( http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html ) for some reason it's not in the table of features, but it IS under the listed columns of details... weird.

lol. Thought it was weird that the iMac had no internal mic listed...
