Value of OS X Server?

Beyond the nice GUI interface (and Web Objects), what does OS X Server offer beyond what you get if you set up OS X client as a server?

In particular, is the performance better? I'm thinking of upgrading our current server, which is used by about a dozen users for file-sharing, mail, and DNS. It's currently running OS 9.

Thanks.

Well, OS X Server is designed to be a server. OS X Client is designed to be a home user client, although they are both based on the same unix BSD darwin core... OS X server just supports more built into the OS, like the built in mail server and more powerful file sharing..

My suggestion would be to upgrade from OS 9 and AppleShare IP to OS X Server. You'll be more familier with the interface and settings and will have more "power" over the server and it's setup. I also believe OS X Server can cary over AppleShare IP settings and users, etc. if you do the upgrade.

But then again, I'm not a network or server expert, I just play one on TV :)
