Hi,
When I encoded a DVD to VCD/PAL in ffmpeg and get a .mpg file for burning to my CD in Toast 5.2 I get the error:

"Warning: The length of *movie_name* is not a multiple of the sector size"

I can still burn the CD but it wont work to play on my DVD player :(

I believe it can be no more than 150 mb.

btw, I have Svcd problems. When I try ffmpegX, the terminal opens and says "If you're not using vcdimager, you can turn it off by pressing -d. But when I do that, nothing happens. And I used to NOT get this message, and it'd work fine, but now, I always get this.

So I went to "forty-two" and when it's done converting, I can't find the file! Please help me too!

Are you using ffmpeg only (command line) or are you using fmpegX (GUI)? In order to burn the (s)vcd in toast, you'll need to author the file for burning in ffmpegX - look in the tools tab.

RPS - That "warning" is normal.

I use ffmpegX 0.0.6g and what do you mean with author in the tool's tab? What settings should I use there?

Even if I ignore the warning and burn the VCD it will not play on my DVD player. I know the player normally can play VCD as I tried before.

Thanks for answering, but, why doesn't the terminal continue doing what it should do?

And IF it will work, and the converting (or whatever it does) finishes, what file would I have to burn?

Matsaki, in the Tools section, select split in chunks. One chunk is approx. 30mins, a bit more.

Hmm! My VOB files are split in 4 pices, and one VOB files get's to arround 163mb as a mpg file. Do I still have to split into 2 chunks? and why is that

Dus that mean that I will have 8 mpg files that I have to combine in VCD builder?

I also read somewhere that someone never succeeded with converting direct from VOB to VCD. Can that be true?

You probably have the "QT Decode" option checked. When you have this checked, the terminal doesn't seem to be doing anything but it is. You can check the status of your file by previewing in VLC or QT.

BTW, the "QT Decode" option is there so that QuickTime can be used to decode the file - this is very useful when converting VOBs to ensure an in sync transcode. You need the QT MPEG-2 component to be installed in order for this to work.

Now I have played around with all possible settings in ffpmegX But I still get he message:

"Warning: The length of *movie_name* is not a multiple of the sector size"

When putting file in Toast. As I said I can still burn but it wont play on my DVD player!

Is it a bug for the PAL settings or what???

And what dus the "is not a multiple of the sector size" mean???

(Tried using Cleaner 6 also. It wonted 17 hours for decoding 20 minutes of film AND can't use the audio in a .VOB or AVI file. Must be an .MOV to get audio working...) BAH!!!
