Vcd?

Is there a way to copy my VCDs into a .mpg, .mov, or similar file to store on my computer?

If I remember correctly, the vcd has an index file that divides the tracks up and points to the data files, that are mpgs in the data folder.

there is a .dat file on the disc that seems to be taking up the space, but it can't be opened with anything I have.

If you have a utility to change its Type and creator codes, that might do the trick. If not, try opening QuickTime and bringing it in from there.

Use VCD Copy X to extract the MPEG from the disc.

all i used to do, was copy the .DAT file to my computer, and rename it .mpg .... plays fine!

Thanks Byerly and Neyo. I used the VCD Copy X prog to take the files off, and renamed it to .mpg, and it works perfectly
