VGA out resolution on TiBook

When I boot my TiBook into Mac OS 9 and attach a Sony G500 21" monitor to the VGA output port and turn mirroring on, the TiBook by default drives that monitor at 1152x768 (the native resolution of the TiBook LCD screen.

However, when I boot from Mac OS X, this resolution is not available, and I'm forced to use 1024x768.

Does anyone know how to enabled the wider aspect ratio in Mac OS X?

g'day,

I'm not sure what version of X you are running, but I've got an apple 17" studio display (the pre-ADC CRT version) attached to my (original 400Mhz) TiBook. Using the button to show all resolutions (ie turning off the recommended resolutions) I can only drive that monitor at the standard aspect ratios (I use 1280x1024, but 1600x1200 and 1152x870 are also available). I cannot see the widescreen style aspect ratios as an option.

Sorry for not being any more helpful!

Cheers,

James
