video iChat will not connect

While at home, video iChat works fine, but when I travel iChat works but won't let me use the video option. An error report occurs and says that I was unable to connect. The error number is -8. All firewalls are turned off yet it is still unable to connect. Any suggestions on how to fix my video iChat? Please help!
 
"When I travel" -- does that imply that you're using wireless "hotspots" and hotel/motel wireless access (e.g., public wifi hotspots)?

If so, then the ports could be blocked at the router, and there's not much you can do about that.

Add the buddy appleu3test01@mac.com to your buddy list -- it's an Apple test user (there's no one at the other end). It will automatically accept incoming video request, so request a video chat with the user and see if it operates properly. The last time I tested it was running some older Apple commercials in a loop.
 
I fixed the problem by turning off the Internet Sharing in System Preferences/Sharing. Hope this works for you.
