Virtual PC & access PCMCIA -> RS-232 adapter

I need a Windows machine for work, but want a 17" G4 PowerBook for me

I need to run Windows and must access a RS-232 serial port interface. If I insert a PCMCIA card with an RS-232 adapter, can I access the PCMCIA card from Virtual PC.

Just want to make sure before I spend $ 3,000...

I would address this question to Microsoft (VirtualPC). In the current version I would be very surprised if that would be possible. However, VirtualPC 7 might have the support for such cards.

Just in case anyone looks at this for the answer themselves in the future.

FROM MICROSOFT:

Virtual PC does not support direct access of PC Card or PCMCIA Devices from Virtual PC's virtual machine.
