Virtual Printer in osX.1

How do I create a virtual printer in osX?
I need it to be able to 'print to pdf' in various applications…

You don't need to create a virtual printer. Just go to File->Print, and click on the "Print Preview" button. This will create a PDF file that opens in Preview, and you can do "File->Save as..." to save it where you want it.
