VLC Player

I am running a dual G5 with panther and trying to use VLC. and i am having an issue with the sound - NO SOUND. Does any one know how can i get the sound working? I would use the DVD player but while playing dvd's i get green noise across the screen.

i've heard of a case like this.
VLC just blew the sound of the whole system and would only come back after a reboot...

did you try to trash the plist file?

Are you on 0.71a? O.71 was dodgy.
