"Volume cannot be found HELP!

I opened a downloaded Microsoft program on my G5, and it seems to have wiped out all of my preferences/documents.

All songs vids and documents are gone, and when I try to open my Music or Picture file, an error message comes up:

"The 'Volume' for pictures cannot be found."

Any ideas on how to retrieve my info, or what the error message means, Please let me know, this is really not a good way to start the new year.

It was Microsoft Office for OSX
I think the exact title was "Microsoft office OSX-web register"
