vpc and acceleration 3d cards

I run VPC (5.0.2) under X on my dual 800 and it works fine. But I would like to install a driver for my geforce3 and it seems impossible. Did someone have a solution to do so.
Thanks for replies.

thanks for the answer. Why don't they able the user to do so - is it a contract with microsoft or what? - they don't want us to use games on our machines?
Nevertheless, is there is a solution? Is it technicaly possible (for connectix)?

I don't know if it's impossible for them to do but it must either be impossible, or be extremely complex if they haven't already done it.

VPC has to provide a virtual processor, virtual PCI slots, virtual HD and everything else so it's probably very hard if not impossible to get 3D cards to work properly in VPC.

I remember that VPC used to offer support for Voodoo GFX cards... why not ATI beats me.

From the VPC FAQ ( http://www.connectix.com/downloadcenter/pdf/vpc5m_FAQ_dec01.pdf ):

Q. Does Virtual PC 5.0 include 3D graphic support?
A. To date, Connectix has not added 3D acceleration support because of the complex issues involved.
There are many technical obstacles to providing 3D acceleration support from within an emulator –
most of them are not obvious at first glance. Connectix will be exploring the feasibility of 3D
emulation in the future.

From what I've read over at the connectix forums, it'd be possible, but very hard, and slow. They can't access the video card directly in Mac OS X, so it'd have to somehow bridge Windows OpenGL to Mac OS X OpenGL. They said this could be done in the future, but it'd still be too slow for any games. It'd mostly be useful for people who need to use OpenGL Graphing calculators or other 3d type apps. One of the things holding them back is people who would whine and moan and complain to them when their latest windows game ran slow.
